We thought we’d come up with something a bit different for this blog as we know you’ll have some days to fill with the kids. Here’s a quiz and activity session to keep those brain cells ticking over, encourage your child to use different resources to find the answer – tv, newspapers, the library, the internet, asking friends and family. This quiz would probably best suit 8-12 year olds.
- Who is the Prime Minister and when was he elected?
- If you were Prime Minister what rule would you introduce? Can you write a short story telling us about your first day as Prime Minister.
- Find something to record your mum or dad’s voice. Next ask your mum or dad these questions:
What was your favourite subject at school?
What did you want to be when your grew up?
Did you have any pets when you were a child?
What was your favourite thing to do when you were a child?
Now look at a newspaper and try and turn their answers into a newspaper article.
- Look in your garden, can you find and name 5 animals (they don’t have to be big ones).
- Where does the Queen live?
- What is the capital of England?
- How many people live in the town or village you live in?
- What colour is a ruby?
- Where is Loch Ness? What is supposed to be in Loch Ness?
- Where were you born?
We’ll put the answers up in a few days!
